Index of Subjects I was just now, almost mowed over by a hummingbird leaving my jewelweed patch and motoring east southeast! man it was lifting it! Other than that it has gotten very quiet. I have practically no birds except a few mourning doves and even the sparrows are staying away except just before dark and at dawn. We had a visit two nights ago from a raccoon and it cleaned out the hummingbird feeder and then as is almost becoming a regular occurrence a fox here at dawn scrounging the ground bird seed. A woman reported the biggest fox she has ever seen (she has them near her home as well) walking up our driveway. The ones I have seen are this year's young I think. The lodge provides them with bunnies so why not stay in the neighbourhood.? I think a few free roaming house cats are going down as well. That is it for here.
