All: Before we found LITTLE EGRET on a pond across the hi'way from the Lawrencetown, beachhous, HRM, a visiting Australian colleague and I found a Baird's Sandpiper at hi tide (as earlier, near the small stream on the harbourside beach) at Hartlen Pt along with scores of peeps - including a surprising near majority of White-rumped Sandpipers. Later, we stopped to scout a bit of bird action along the road shortly before reaching Sambro. We had a nice flurry of warblers, including N. Parula, Yellow, Chestnut-sided, MAgnolia, "Myrtle" (hang on to that, they'll be split off again)B-t Green, Palm, Blackpoll, Bl.-&-White, Am. Redstart, Com. Yellowthroat. These were both adults and juveniles, moving through - clearly a stopover flock. I agree, though, that a bicycle would have been more fun. Cheers, Ian Ian McLaren
