Index of Subjects --Boundary_(ID_1jpWOLTfBYRzd/Eb/fkMhw) Content-type: text/plain; charset=WINDOWS-1252; format=flowed; delsp=yes Content-transfer-encoding: quoted-printable Thanks to all of those who have advised me on Fish Crow =20 identification. The consensus seem to be that I had a few juvenile =20 American Crows. Particularly those who looked at the picture were of =20= this opinion. So, I am continuing to keep my eyes open as usual, Just this morning =20= I saw a "crow-suspect" at French Village (from Rt. 333 on St. =20 Margaret's Bay, just south of one of those "Welcome to Our Community" =20= signs which annoy by their dubious sincerity, for all settlements in =20 HRM have the same, mass-produced sign). Anyway, it was about 20 m from an ideal habitat: where a small stream =20= enters the bay. Furthermore, the suspect was perched on a power line, =20= which descriptions say is characteristic of the Fish Crow, not the =20 American Crow. Looked good, but the beak was not hooked, and there =20 was no cry when it took off at my approach, so I did not have a chance =20= to judge by vocalisation. Even if I had my camera, I don't thing that =20= I would have been able to get a shot of the wing-tips. Probably this =20= was just a young American Crow, who hadn't yet received the memo =20 advising him that it is not the custom of his species to perch on =20 power lines. =97 Paul S.
