July 28=2C09(6:45-8:00pm)

14 sooty shearwaters
2 cory's shearwaters
2 manx shearwaters
2 greater shearwaters
80 red-necked phalaropes
25 red phalaropes
all the shearwaters and phalaropes were flying from the direction of Cow Ba=
y to
Chebucto Head and the distance of the red and white buoy just left of Devil=
's
Island.it wasn't until the wind picked up that the shearwaters started
flying=2Cthen the wind died down and it was over.the last sooty went by ay =
7:30
and the last red-necked phalarope at 8:00.I managed to get a couple of phot=
os of
sootys=2Cdock shots only=2Cvery difficult for the camera to focus as the we=
re moving
quickly.
