Index of Subjects This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_035B_01CA04CD.3081A510 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I have seen this add many times, the last time being a couple of hours = ago. This question has been with me every time I have seen it. The shape of the bird reminds me of a tern, the black makes me think of = a black backed gull, the bird as a whole does not look like anything I = have even seen before, either as a living bird or as a picture of one. I have decided the picture is a creation of the artist and think it is a = product of artistic license, and I would guess the people who pay for = the picture are very happy that we spend so much time looking at it. Anyone like to go for a boat ride? Roland. ----- Original Message -----=20 From: Richard Stern=20 To: NatureNS ; NS-RBA=20 Sent: Tuesday, July 14, 2009 5:55 PM Subject: [NatureNS] A TV Gull quiz Here's an exercise to occupy you on a dull (weather and birding) day. = There is a TV ad (CBC, ATV), for the Cat, featuring some gulls , with = artistic license, sitting on the Cat. They have slightly decurved red = bill, red legs, all white heads, no black on the primaries, no dark = markings on the head, etc. Question of the day for those who can see = these ads - if the artist took a real Gull as his model, what is it and = does it occur in NS or Maine? (N.B. I don't know the answer, but I = thought people might have fun looking). --=20 ################# Richard Stern,=20 317 Middle Dyke Rd.
