Hello everyone:

I was atlassing in 20LR60 yesterday on Russia Road and come across  
what i first thought was an immature bald eagle eating a dead skunk. I  
was a bit excited as that species had not been seen in the square yet,  
I was looking at it in the binoculars and it didn't't quite look right  
so I drove the car a bit closer at which point it flew up into a  
nearby tree. My first  thought was "What happened to it's head.." I  
did get a few reasonable pictures. There was a couple that came by  
walking their dog who told me that they see a turkey vulture on their  
walk almost once a week and they are familiar with them as they have  
seen them in Texas. In fact. they said that not that recently a nearby  
farmer (and pheasant hunter) found five turkey vultures feeding on a  
pheasant carcass and even called DNR , where they assured him that  
turkey vultures do not kill pheasants....
