All: Yesterday Bernice and I were surprised to see an adult Black-billed Cuckoo flash past our windshield near the Darthmouth entrance to the MacKay Bridge. This was at the level of Shannon Park. Maybe that closed area offers some breeding habitat. Also interesting to see at Hartlen Pt. were the numbers of greatly bleached gulls (don't know where and when they got in some subtanning) hanging around the harbourside beach. Some of the 1st-cycle Great Black-backeds looked almost like huge young "Kumlien's" Gulls. Cheers, Ian Ian McLaren
