You can see for yourselves the trends of many NS birds by going into the
Breeding Bird Survey Website, specifically, to

   http://www.mbr-pwrc.usgs.gov/cgi-bin/atlasa99.pl?NS%20&2&05

This gives trends and significance levels over the last 40+ years. Just click on
the bird names and you'll get graphs (more useful at a glance) and numerical
output. Lots to think (and worry) about.
