Hi all
On MONDAY May 25 at 7:00 p.m. at the new Glasgow Library program room,  the Pictou Co,. Naturalists will present  "Nova Scotia Plantwatch" by Melanie Priesnitz. Find out how to become a citizen scientist as you observe the signs of spring. The ralk will explain what the Plantwatch program is all about and how folks can get involved. She will also talk a little about climate change and how our flora is being affected and will look at some of the plant species to look for in detail. All are welcome
Melanie Priesnitz is the Conservation Horticulturist at the Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens in Wolfville Nova Scoria. She has been working at the Gardens since the construction phase where she helped to plant over 17,000 plants that are native to the Acadian Forest Region. Melanie is Melanie is active in the community both through her role at the Gardens and as a volunteer in her spare time. Melanie is the Nova Scotia Coordinator for the national environmental monitoring program Plantwatch and is an active member of the Town of Wolfville's Communities in Bloom committee. Her latest personal conquest was graduating from an intensive certificate program on Applied Plant Conservation at the Denver Botanical Gardens in Colorado. Melanie enjoys sharing her knowledge of native plants and conservation with local schools, garden clubs and naturalist groups.

Please note the presentation is on Monday rather than our usual Tuesday.
