9 May 2009 I did the western half of the Chebucto Peninsula yesterday, starting in Jerry Lawrence PP, then trying to go inland on Bowater/Abitibi roads (still close unfortunately, and they may not reopen as the company is bankrupt), then on to St. Margaret's Bay, Wooden's River, Peggy's Cove, Shad Bay, and finally Prospect. About 55 species for the day, including seven species of warbler, a late Red-necked Grebe, a pair of Harlequin Ducks, a Gray Jay, and a Fox Sparrow. A great day to be out. All the best, Blake ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Blake Maybank maybank@ns.sympatico.ca 902-852-2077 Editor, "Nova Scotia Birds" http://nsbs.chebucto.org author, "Birding Sites of Nova Scotia" http://maybank.tripod.com/BSNS.htm White's Lake, Nova Scotia, Canada
