My sisters and I took a family related day trip to Pugwash and Wallace Bay =
yesterday. The weather was rainy & drizzly all day.=20
At one of my sisters=A0home in Pugwash, I was astonished to see a very larg=
e skunk, nonchalantly,=A0waddling down the middle of=A0the street like it o=
wned the place. Needless to say, we were in her house looking out her livin=
g-room window! My sister says it's quite common-place to see skunks, raccoo=
ns and even a fox mossing down the street on occasion. :o)

=A0At my Grandparents home In Wallace Bay, I saw a Great Horned Owl (admitt=
edly my first!! - WOW! Very impressive!) that my uncle says has been appear=
ing almost on a daily basis around their house. It is primarily open farmin=
g fields with alot a sheep being raised. With lambing underway, there are o=
ccasional deaths, presenting the Bald Eagles with food. Great Blue Herons w=
ere plentiful around the bay and also at The Bitou.

Before leaving for our trip yesterday morning, took myself and my Springer =
for=A0a walk down to Sullivan's Pond and saw that the Green-winged Teal is =
still present. It was up on the grass with a small group of Mallards. It is=
quite small. It certainly moves differently than any of the other duck-typ=
e fowl I am accustomed to seeing there. Very quick and almost furtive in it=
's demeanour, the way it was=A0darting around following one of the drake Ma=
llards. Anyway. I wondered if there was a female Teal but there were just o=
ther Mallards in the group.
