The Rose-breasted Grosbeak was in our front yard in Portuguese Cove just as we returned from our Sunday drive yesterday. The American Woodcock was a flash in the roadside bushes just ahead of us yesterday evening, beside Sandy Cove Road, Halifax Municipality. It held still for a time but was surrounded by vegetation although we did get a clear view of its head. I wish I knew of some woodcock displaying fields in this area. Seeing and hearing those woodcock displays is something we do miss.

Look for more Mayflower photos!
