--0016e642d8c0d71c820467bf22be Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi, I did my owl route last night, accompanied by Rick Whitman and Bernard Forsythe - the route was from behind Falmouth up the Mines Rd. into the logging roads that eventually lead to New Ross. Excellent habitat, especially for Saw-whets, but we didn't find any. We heard a single, rather distant Barred Owl, and at another stop had a nice close pair of Gt. Horned, calling to one another. All 3 owls were calling as we stopped, and I don't think playing the CD had any influence on them. Much of the route lies in Rick's atlas square, but he has already recorded calling Gt.
