I would imagine that those whale-watching boats might be available for seabird watching during May, for a price, of course. Concerning the hikes that Bob McDonald mentioned, you might wish to avoid "shared trails", since that expression often refers to trails that can be used by ATVs and snowmobiles. You should be able to get info' from Michael Haynes's various books, e.g. hiking trails of Nova Scotia etc., and perhaps also from the N.S. Trails Federation??
