I just ever so fortuitously saw a SNOWY OWL out through my front picture
window about 5:03 PM. It came along the shore from the east and I laid
eyes on it for all of three seconds. However, in that time I noticed it
was darkly streaked, and it had an escort service provided by nine bold
(or stupid) American Crows headed for Castalia Marsh. This may be the
same bird folks have been reporting the past week, or maybe there is
still more than one in the islands.

Brian Dalzell,
Grand Manan, NB.

P.S. Who would have thunk, a Barn Swallow and a Snowy Owl on the same
day? Only in Canada.
