This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --Boundary_(ID_WrhzLazQUCBlGwpNS83SaQ) Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT Hi all, Was just on the phone with a gentleman in Cape Breton who experienced something yesterday that few of us will ever see. To make a long story short, he had 2 mature bald eagles locked together in his yard for HOURS! From the story Im assuming they locked in the sky, fell, and then because both of them were no doubt struggling they couldnt/wouldnt let go. Each were wounded and the home owner tried to separate them..carefully...but I know his presence probably made them just grip each other more tightly. Once they separated, one flew off weakly and the other ran into the woods, i enquired about wing injuries but difficult to tell. He will watch for them and let me know if one is grounded. Its funny, the veterinarian/rehabilitator side of me was thinking.....wow....poor birds....are either of them hurt, and can I help? The naturalist/bird geek side of me was thinking COOL!....so amazing to see that and did you get a picture ( no he didnt..I asked)! Will let you know if I hear more. I generally try not to interfere with natural behaviours, but if one is injured I will certainly try to help. :) Helene Helene Van Doninck DVM Cobequid Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre RR#1 Brookfield Nova Scotia Canada B0N1C0 hvandoninck@eastlink.ca www.cwrc.net 1-902-893-0253 --Boundary_(ID_WrhzLazQUCBlGwpNS83SaQ) Content-type: text/html; charset=us-ascii Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML xmlns="http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40" xmlns:v = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" xmlns:o = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" xmlns:w = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:word" xmlns:st1 = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"><HEAD> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=us-ascii"> <META content="MSHTML 6.00.6000.16809" name=GENERATOR><o:SmartTagType name="PlaceType" namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"></o:SmartTagType><o:SmartTagType name="PlaceName" namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"></o:SmartTagType><o:SmartTagType name="place" namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"></o:SmartTagType><!--[if !mso]> <STYLE>st1\:* { BEHAVIOR: url(#default#ieooui) } </STYLE> <![endif]--> <STYLE>@font-face { font-family: Comic Sans MS; } @page Section1 {size: 8.5in 11.0in; margin: 1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; } P.MsoNormal { FONT-SIZE: 12pt; MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; FONT-FAMILY: "Times New Roman" } LI.MsoNormal { FONT-SIZE: 12pt; MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; FONT-FAMILY: "Times New Roman" } DIV.MsoNormal { FONT-SIZE: 12pt; MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; FONT-FAMILY: "Times New Roman" } A:link { COLOR: blue; TEXT-DECORATION: underline } SPAN.MsoHyperlink { COLOR: blue; TEXT-DECORATION: underline } A:visited { COLOR: purple; TEXT-DECORATION: underline } SPAN.MsoHyperlinkFollowed { COLOR: purple; TEXT-DECORATION: underline } SPAN.EmailStyle17 { FONT-WEIGHT: normal; COLOR: windowtext; FONT-STYLE: normal; FONT-FAMILY: "Comic Sans MS"; TEXT-DECORATION: none; mso-style-type: personal-compose } DIV.Section1 { page: Section1 } </STYLE> <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:shapedefaults v:ext="edit" spidmax="1026" /> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:shapelayout v:ext="edit"> <o:idmap v:ext="edit" data="1" /> </o:shapelayout></xml><![endif]--></HEAD> <BODY lang=EN-US vLink=purple link=blue> <DIV><SPAN class=187140713-28032009><FONT face=Arial color=#0000ff size=2>Hi all, </FONT></SPAN></DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=187140713-28032009><FONT face=Arial color=#0000ff size=2></FONT></SPAN> </DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=187140713-28032009><FONT face=Arial color=#0000ff size=2>Was just on the phone with a gentleman in Cape Breton who experienced something yesterday that few of us will ever see.
