Hi there,

Today while walking to work in central/south end Halifax, I saw two
definite spring arrivals: a Common Grackle - the first I have seen
this year - and a Northern Flicker. I have not seen either species
in this area since mid-December.

Crows were rather furtive in their nest-building activities earlier
this month, and I scarcely saw any carrying branches. However in the
last two days I have seen several crows carrying beakfulls of grass
and dried leaves, obviously finishing off their nests.

	Cheers,

	Patricia L. Chalmers
	Halifax
