Yes, ain't Spring wonderful?!  Here in Wolfville at this time of year  
I enjoy the promises from swollen buds of Am. elm (now few in  
Wolfville), red maple, and silver maple -- also the male "cones" of  
alders, white birches, and hazelnut? (latter shrub is in our  
neighborhood along a sidewalk walking route) are elongated but not
