Index of Subjects Hello Ken - I saw two of these squirrels when I was growing up in Bear River - about 1945. One had been shot by a rabbit hunter, the other I had caught in a mink trap. I came to the following conclusions about them, but I do not know if they are correct or not: 1, The squirrels are active mostly at night. In this way they are different from the other sbuirrels - both our red squirrels and the larger grew squirrels we used to see running on the wires in Toronto. 2. The pelts of red squirrels used to have commercial value, the NS flying squirrels have none. 3. There are more of these animals in NS than anyone realizes. 4. I would like to know more aout them.
