Carol and I did the loop to Port George, across to Bridgewater, and back to Halifax. There weren't a lot of birds since it is so open, mild and breezy.

At Grand Pre there were lots of Red-tailed Hawks and a few Bald Eagles and Northern Harriers. I got a picture of a Red-tailed Hawk sitting on a branch with a dead crow (that will teach them to harass him/her).

There was an American Kestral at the left end of the dykes.

There were no birds at all at the Daigle's in Starrs Point and I couldn't find a Lesser Black-backed Gull among all of the gulls at Canard Poultry.

We saw one Razorbill and two Harlequin Ducks at Port George. It was high tide and windy so we were lucky to get any at all. Out in the waves there were Surf and White-winged Scoters and a Red-throated Loon.

The Great Egret was feeding in the middle of the marsh at Indian Point. At Martin's Point we saw a Horned Grebe and several Long-tailed Ducks.

Don
