Hi folks, December 3rd birding while doing some GPS: WHITE RED-TAILED HAWK observed again in Hortonville, at the Kenny Farm between 8:00 and 9:00 am. Initially spotted from highway 101, was perched on the roof of the large silver barn. Captured some Luneau-style video of it flying and perched on a telephone pole which shows some dark brown on the nape and some faint brown on the underwings. Mobbed quite frequently by a murder (hopefully not) of crows. SNOWY OWL at the Guzzle in Grand-Pre between 10 and 12. Opened the car door to search for it, and flew off from a perch on the rocky slope of the dyke about 5m away from me (!) . Some more Luneau-style video of it being mobbed by several ravens, and also a harrier (!) "it ain't easy being white" cheers, James Churchill -- James Churchill Berwick, Nova Scotia jameslchurchill@gmail.com mobile: (902) 698-3402
