Index of Subjects On Saturday I went with my daughter on the Hfx Field Nat's trip to explore the wild parts of a small river, the McIntosh Run, that flows roughly south from Spryfield and near Herring Cove Road on the outskirts of Halifax. When you get off the main road it's a nice scrubby woodland area with trails. The two people who organized the trip are part of a small group trying to conserve the river and adjacent woods against the encroachment of housing developments that loom very large nearby. When I asked, the organizers didn't seem to know if anyone competent had surveyed the bird life there, so I thought I'd ask this group if anyone has that area included in an atlas square, or if it is unsurveyed. I vaguely recall Hans Toom finding a wren behind a supermarket that would be near the upper end of the run, so it could be him, but I think he unplugged himself from this list a while back. Does anyone know whetherthe McIntosh Run area has been or is being surveyed for bird life (or anything else) by anyone? I've just watched a brown creeper repeated climbing up one of our garden's trees -- rather uncommon to see, here in this part of Hfx suburbia. Steve
