A friend of mine was looking at getting a new kayak and is seriously considering getting one that is more compact than a fixed rigid one, especially since he is looking at getting a much smaller, more efficient vehicle. This company makes kayaks and canoes that you put up like you would a tent. Apparently they can be put up in 15 minutes, are very lightweight, and can be left up or taken down as needed. Their web site is: http://www.pakboats.com/ The only dealer in Canada is : www.kayak-canada.ca That is a bit too bad, as it would be nice if a place more local where one could see what they are like "hands on".
