I have been able to drop in at the Windsor Sewage Ponds twice this week
while en-route to other things. The numbers are considerable. Both visits
were relatively short, at about 2pm. The first on Tuesday 21 October and the
second today, 23rd Oct.

				21 Oct	23 Oct
Canada Geese 150 85
Black Ducks 65 113
Herring Gulls 200 200+
GBB Gulls 18 35
Green Winged Teal 15 8
Blue Winged Teal 2 2
American Wigeon 18 12
Black Bellied Plovers	6 2
Yellowlegs? 6 0

Of interest is that on both occasions at least 4 of the male American
Wigeons sported a clearly quite bright yellow forehead, unlike the white or
buffy colour seen in the textbooks. They are otherwise normal American
Wigeons. Could they be hybrids?
