Hi all:

Zoe Lucas reports from Sable Island that there is a Great Egret there at
present. Also, everything is drenched with heavy rains and 25-45 knot winds,
presumably part of the system mentioned by Tom K as giving NE winds at Canso.
(And, by the way, there are also lows in Davis Strait and nearer Iceland, which
are giving strong westerlies across the N. Atlantic to the south of the lows.
So, the local NE winds are unlikley to deliver Eurasian shorebirds, etc., as a
bonus for us.)

Zoe also poses the following question: "Do you know of any tree bat sightings
this year? Red, Hoary, or Silver-haired bats?"

Perhaps naturens people could enlighten Zoe on this question.

All best, Ian McLaren
