I happened to be in Princess Auto on Wright Avenue in Burnside and they  have 
7x50 binoculars for $10 and spotting scopes for less than $50. Probably not  
the greatest quality but they seemed to work fine and could be good 
inexpensive  back ups for anyone who needs additional gear.
