Hi all
I birded Big I. on Sat. Oct. 18. Here are the highlihgts:Most warblers and sparrows that were there 2 weeks ago had disappeared. I did not see any Swamp Sparrows, Kingfishers, Flickers or Siskins, amd only 1 Great Blue Heron although the mud flats were flooded when I arrived, but I could only see one in the high tide roost. Some late fall species had arrived in some numbers. A total of 47 species tallied on Big I.

Red-necked Grebe- 3
Red-throated Loon-7
Horned Lark- at least 20
Canada Geese-560
Peregrine Falcon-1
Storm Petrel-1 (Wilson's?)
Common Tern-3
Bonaparte's Gull-300

Shorebirds: Black-bellied Plover-17, Semipalmated Plover-6, Dunlin-3, G. Yellowlegs-1, Sanderling-3
