I had to make a trip to Bear River yesterday, coming back I took an old
logging road that runs along side what must be "Bear River" and the river
was full of beautiful Wood Ducks.
I then made my way back and decided to take a quick pop into the Belle Isle
Marsh, the trees along the entrance road held more Sparrows than I have ever
seen, I couldn't find any out of the ordinary, mostly White throats, Song
and Chipping Sparrows...I made my way in and started checking the marsh
pools but was disappointed that there were absolutely no ducks to be seen
anywhere. At the last pool I checked, I found out why, there were two duck
hunters walking back to their truck carrying two Green-wing Teals :( I
would've figured the marsh to be a protected wetland but I'm guessing I'm
wrong. It made me very sad to see.

Cheers!
Jeff
