Hi All, An old US Fish & Wildlife buddy emailed to let me know that he had seen my posting on the Red-necked Stint and thought that the birders up here would like to know that a Red-necked Stint was seen in Cape May, unlikely our bird as it was sighted way back in August. Below are excerpts from his email : Hey Clarence, “....................I like to keep an eye on what you guys are finding up there so I have a better idea of what may be heading our way, looks like we beat you to the punch this time. Your buddies up there might be interested in this.” An adult RED-NECKED STINT was found at Two Mile Landing in Cape May Aug 30; no reports since. On Aug 30, a RED-NECKED STINT was seen at a wet area to the east of the parking lot at the Two Mile Landing Restaurant, which is off Ocean Drive at Wildwood Crest “..... it’s good to see you Blue Nosers can still sniff out a good bird or two when you are not dodging polar bears.” Gee, I wonder where he got the idea that we have Polar Bears here.
