It was about 1/2 km west of the Ready-aye-Ready bridge, roughly 2.3 kms from the Bissett Rd. parking lot. It perched on large boulders at the side of the trail and gave the longest views I have had of this species. It was present in the same location on my way back down the trail half an hour later. The bird was a lovely bright adult male leucorhoa, still with black mask and wings, and bright peach-coloured breast. The white rump and upper tail with broad black subterminal band were obvious in flight, and a narrow white terminal band could also be easily seen. Other noteworthy birds present: 3 American Pipits 19 Canada Geese 18 Pectoral Sandpipers a variety of other shorebirds, in dwindling numbers 1 Peregrine Falcon, stooping on both shorebirds and gulls shortly before sunset Cheers, Susann Myers --Boundary_(ID_sdR1wsAb2tMJ0oqd88jaHg) Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <META content="MSHTML 6.00.6000.16705" name=GENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=#ffffff> <DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>While doing a Maritimes Shorebird Survey at about 6:00 p.m. today, I found a Northern Wheatear along the Cole Harbour Saltmarsh Trail.
