Index of Subjects Some highlighs in Big Island Sunday (August 23 and 24) It was hot and sunny. Not very many shore birds. Lots of mozzies, really very bad this year. It was fascinating to watch a powerful Peregrine Falcon fly around and chase shorebirds for a meal, but no luck. Monday, August 25, 2008 1 Pectoral Sandpiper 1 Stilt Sandpiper 2 very young Red eyed vireos found by Ken McKenna. Still flightless. Tuesday, August 26, 2008 1 Stilt Sandpiper 20 + Whimbrels 3 Blue winged teals -very likely migrating 1 Ruddy Turnstone Cheers, liz
