Hello all, while out on one of the dykes at the east end of Long Island we noted a great sighting of four or more Black Bellied Plovers. There were many plovers there but these stood out. Also on a grassy spit of land were Great Blue Herons.. Funny thing thou, they seemed to have while heads and necks and then a spot of black just at the wing/shoulder and then grey from there on down. This was on Saturday afternoon. What a wonderful day and the wind made it so nice. Heather D.
