Hi everyone:

We had an unusual male pheasant at the feeder today. It was smaller
than a typical male, showed no white on its neck, except for one
feather on the right side, and had a short stubby tail like a grouse.
Would this be a male that was hatched this year, or does it take them a
few years to reach "adult" size and plumage?

Pat
