Decades ago I was on one of two birding/whale-watching fishing boats (hired) in a year when there were oodles of PURPLE JELLYFISH?? (Pelagia??) (from Cape Cod south, normally). Normally I think leatherbacks (and ocean sunfish, too) feed mostly on lion's-mane jellyfish? Just this past Sunday there were lots of moon jellyfish along the waterfront in Halifax.
