Among about 16 mostly adult Eastern Willets (ssp semipalmatus) on the flats off
Fishermens Cove, E. Passage, HRM, was a single juv. Western Willet (ssp.
inornatus), readily distinguished by its larger size, long bill and legs and
relatively unmarked gray plumage. (Even my non-birding guests were able to pick
it out.)

I believe this may be the earliest "fall" transient on record here.
