It runs from Highway 217 right over the top of the North Mountain, and over to the Bay of Fundy, where it connects with Cow Ledge Trail, which takes you over to Beautiful Cove. The trail is located on 14 acres of land owned by the Freeport Community Development Association. We own the property, right in the Village, that used to be owned by the Bank of Nova Scotia. It's on the right hand side of Highway 217. We have a sign on one of our buildings saying Freeport Development Centre. There is parking at the base of the trail, at the Development Centre. There is a public washroom. There is also an observation deck, with benches, overlooking the village of Freeport and the Northeast Cove. By this fall, a second deck will be completed overlooking the Bay of Fundy. In terms of difficulty, it's a bit of hike up the hill, but we had a couple of people in their late 70's and early 80's go up to the observation deck during the grand opening last Friday. The trail is open to the public. It's insured. And it's a beautiful walk.
