Thank you Lance for your response regarding the slug. The photo you attached 
shows one looking very much the same as the one I saw. They do appear longer 
when they are extending their bodies to move forward. I love discovering and 
learning about new things in nature on Brier Island. Even though it's a 
small piece of land, I suspect it has great numbers and varieties of plant 
and animal life.
