Hi all... I got the following request from Don Davis (Toronto, ON) for posting of sightings of Monarch Butterflies. Please spread the word to your naturalist clubs, and naturalist friends... Don said... "... requesting postings of monarch butterfly sightings (adults, eggs, larva). This information will be shared with the Journey North program (http://www.learner.org/jnorth) and also with the committee I serve on to develop the Canadian Monarch Butterfly Conservation Plan. We need date of sighting, location (closest city, town, provincial park, etc), name and email address of observer and specifics of observation." DDavis@TorontoCAS.ca Don was co-author of the North American Monarch Conservation Plan - see http://www.cec.org where its release was announced. ------- Our situation in the Valley -------------- We have a few but not many Monarch in our 'milkweed' field at the present time. It has been very dry in Cambridge and our field is brown except for the milkweed. We have not found eggs or larvae yet.
