Wed June 18 / 08 Sheila McCurdy found a Gt-crested Flycatcher early this morning near her home in Wolfville. She alerted Bernard Forsythe who saw it there shortly afterwards. I was contacted and saw it between 9.30-10.00 a.m. There is a ravine with a pond and lovely woodland trail between Orchard Ave and Sherwood Drive on the eastern end of Wolfville, behind the Blomidon Inn. At the moment the BEST access is from the trail entrance on Orchard Ave - almost opposite King St - as there is *major road-work* (with heavy work equipment) taking place on Sherwood Dr. From the Orchard Ave entrance - the woodland trail is posted - follow the winding trail which leads up a fairly steep slope; continue until you see the pond. Turn down the path to the low wooden bridge you see beside the pond. Cross this bridge (the pond will now be on your right) and start looking for the GCFL around this area. It was hanging around the back of the private properties that face you as you cross the bridge and walk up the gentle slope to meet another section of the trail running behind these homes when I saw it. I parked - off King St - in the grounds of the Wolfville Recreation Park while I walked the trail. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Judy Tufts Wolfville <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
