A few bird sightings from the past week:
- 1 Yellowthroat (unusually scarce!) - Palmeter Woods--May 12, stilll
only one this a.m.
- 1 Blackburnian Warbler (Palmeter Woods May 16. Nancy Nickerson reported
they was one by the river. Because of the location I presume it arrived
last night. I searched for it without success.
- 1 Brown Creeper (heard)-Palmeter Woods. To me it seems to
"throw" its voice so I have difficulty determining where it
is.
- a male Phoebe back at the bridge at Palmeter Woods. It darted under the
bridge several times so presumably the female was there nesting.
- 1 Chestnut-sided Warbler, May 16-Palmeter Woods. Again should be many
more around here.
- Parula Warblers much more common today at Palmeter Woods.
- yesterday checked out a patch of woods near our home which is excellent
habitat for Yellow Warblers & Catbirds. No luck but last evening
along the RR bed (Coldbrook), there was one of each. (Both were in same
bush & both singing so it made for an odd melody!!)

Other sightings at Palmeter Woods:
- 1 American Lady
- 1 Eastern Pine Elfin
- a few Mustard Whites
Pics of each were obtained and posted at:
