During the migratory count, I had a Northern Harrier (male) fly by making a noise I had never heard before. Usually I think of the Harrier flying quietly low over a field. This one was swooping up and down and doing loops in the wind over a treed lake. It's black wing tips stood out. It kept doing this many times - very odd.... then following behind was another lighter colored Harrier flying sedately low and level over the trees. Can this be considered a display?
