This raises a question which has puzzled me for years. Long ago I was =20= working on a shrimp boat in the Gulf of Mexico, and a migrating =20 warbler landed on our small vessel. He hopped around catching various =20= gnats, at times coming close to us, showing no fear, and acting in =20 good health. One of the crew shook his head ominously, and said: "He =20= will die. You watch him." With a few minutes I found the warbler =20 dead, in the middle of a coil of rope. The cook told me that whenever =20= a migrating bird lands on the boat, he dies. I have never read such a thing, and cannot guess why a restful =20 stopover should have hurt that warbler. The wind was fresh, so fumes =20=
