At 1 pm (news music came on CBC radio) today, I had three male ruby throat
hummingbirds in my yard and squabbling over my feeder by my studio window
(for those who visited the Rufus in the fall) . I
saw another solitary male on my other feeder in my arbour. I managed to get
a photo of it although it is not really clear it is clear enough for
identifying, I would think. Time to have your feeders out.
Since then I have seen a male ruby throat at the arbour feeder a number of
times. Another one is trying to feed at the weeping grapevine but is getting
chased away by chickadees.
