Barb and Pat, wait for a warm and RAINY night, then gather raincoats,
boots, hats, umbrellas, and flashlights (no need for CD player), then
try the same location or any other wetland where you can hear calling
peepers or other amphibians. The calling should be very enthusiastic
and nearly continuous, and you will be the only people out looking
and listening. Also watch for migrant salamanders, peepers, wood
frogs, leopard frogs, early toads, etc., and in the water also look
for yellow-spotted (and/or blue-spotted) salamanders plus red-spotted
newts, etc. And on such nights twice I have found amorous wood frogs
clasped to yellow-spotted salamanders (for at least many minutes
without letting go)!

Happy hunting, and keep us posted, from Jim in Wolfville.
