April 20, 2008 - Two photos (1 digital, 1 35-mm.) of the site at the
Wolfville/Greenwich boundary along Highway 1 where BALD EAGLES have
just built a NEST in the top of a pine between Landmark East school's
main building at 708 Main St. and the next house west at 720 Main
St. Peter Elderkin has been watching the eagles' activities there
for about a week or perhaps a bit longer? The adults are acting as
if they don't yet have eggs, but the nest itself is fairly
substantial. Convenient viewing spots with binoculars are the
parking lots of Elderkin's and Stirling's Farm Markets.

Near the eagle nest were 2 WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCHES.

In our Wolfville yard, a CARDINAL and a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW were
singing (other songs from mourning doves, robins, song sparrows,
grackles, and pheasant). And the CLAY-COLOURED SPARROW is still
present at the feeders.

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville, 542-9204
