My list may appear similar to those of others, so this list is strictly for
my area in Jeddore Oyster Ponds. I found that there was a strange absence of
a couple of species this winter including the Purple Finch and
White-throated Sparrow. Have others noticed this too?

Here's my list of firsts:

Birds:

Winter Wren - April 23

Yellow-rumped Warbler - April 22

Yellow-shafted Flicker - April 21

Purple Finch - April 20

Tree Swallow - April 19

Turkey Vulture - April 19

White-throated Sparrow - April 19

Double-crested Cormorants - April 19

Butterflies:

White Admiral - April 7 (is this unusual?)

All of those listed that can sing were singing.
