I ran my second route last night 49, which I picked up from Peter Hope. Do=
rothy Poole and Gary Selig again accompanied me. The first four stops did =
not seem promising. The noise level was so great that if owls were present=
we could not have heard them. I thought that there might be vocalizations=
a number of times, but could not say for sure. Overall on the route, the =
spring peepers and wood frogs were very loud and traffic noise and dogs bar=
king were also very prominant on over half of the stops. On the plus side =
we did quite well I think with owls, on the basis of what I have heard from=
historical results. We ended the evening with eight barred owls of which =
three were seen and also had two American woodcocks and a Wilson's snipe. =
