A neighbour of ours took a walk on the Pockwock roads off the Mt.
Uniacke exit of Hwy. 101 last night (Apr.17) and heard Hermit Thrushes
singing everywhere!

We've had a returning pair of Purple Finch the past few days, a female
Cowbird on Apr. 16, N. Flicker returned Apr. 11, Fox Sparrow last heard
on Apr. 13, still a few Comm. Redpolls.

Saw an interesting flight of 24 Ravens the morning of Apr. 12, a
scattered flock heading South, passing over our house! Never saw more
than 4 or 5 ravens together before. I'm pretty sure they were Ravens,
not Crows, as I noticed the wedge tails and the hefty appearance of the
'shoulders'. Wonder what they were up to.
