Hi,

Yesterday morning I walked the French Basin Trail at Annapolis Royal, and
saw my 1st Tree Swallow of the season, sitting on a nest box (although it
didn't stay). There was also a Pied-billed Grebe, and about 50 Bufflehead.

Last night I went with a friend into his atlas square not far from Falmouth,
and we had 3 different Saw-whet owls hooting, including 1 that also made the
noise like whetting a saw, for which they're named -- + 1 Gt. Horned owl,
and several Snipe and Woodcock - all heard, none seen. Unlike my own Owl
survey route on the North Mtn., that for the 5th year in a row produced
nothing!

Richard
