Yesterday Apr 16/08, here on the Wolfville Ridge while gardening, I heard a
TREE SWALLOW 'twittering' as it was flew over the house, and the first weak
sounds of a SPRING PEEPER calling from the ditch in front of our house!

Thurs morning Apr 17/08 - Wolfville area:

Kingsport: 1-2 kms north along Medford Rd, RED-TAILED HAWK sitting on nest
in western tree line behind Tavpo Farm. Can be easily seen from the road
while leaves are absent. This is the third year this nest has been active.

Canard Pond: 1m,1f N SHOVELER, male BLUE-W TEAL, 6+ GRN-W. TEAL, 1m,1f A
WIGEON, GBH (my first for season), and a few Mallards and Black Ducks.

Harris' Pond, Canning: 7m 1f RING-N DUCK, 2m 2f A WIGEON.

Canning Aboiteau: 60-70 CANADA GEESE, 10 GRN-W. TEAL, plus a few Mallards
and Black Ducks .

Saxon St Pond, Sheffield Mills: 1m 1f C MERGANSER, 15 GRN-W. TEAL, single
KILLDEER calling (my first for season), pr Mallards, 6 Black Ducks.

Cheers,
Judy Tufts
